I started my data science journey in my undergrad; I studied Astrophysics and I was exposed to working with large astronomy data sets. I was privileged to work with amazing teachers and astronomers at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa and the Institute for Astronomy. Being in that space helped me build a solid foundation for understanding how to work with data. I wanted to hone my data skills and learn how businesses use data to improve their operations, so I applied to the University of California, Irvine's MS in Business Analytics program. This was one of the best decisions I made because I gained more than what I expected and learned so many new and innovative techniques in ML and NLP. My goal with for this blog is to show others about the cool things you can do and learn from data science projects. It's important to understand why you choose an algorithm to solve a problem, but it is more crucial to understand the context of the problem and how you can apply your solutions to the real world.
